Whale Watching - Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company

When visiting Bar Harbor, Maine, a whale watching trip is a must. The Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company sails daily throughout the season from the pier of The Harborside Hotel & Marina in downtown Bar Harbor.

AtlantiCat, our brand new high-tech luxury catamaran, completed to sail in 2003 is the newest high speed whale watching vessel in Maine, and quite possibly the world. She offers an advanced active stabilizing system and has 360 degree rail-side viewing on all decks, guaranteeing everyone a front row seat to the action.

Humpback, finback and minke whales, seals, otters, dolphins, porpoises, lighthouses, puffins and eagles are some of the beautiful things you will have an opportunity to see. Our Galley includes a variety of sandwiches, snacks and refreshments, including alcoholic beverages. We are the only whale watch that offers on-site parking so you may enjoy the voyage knowing your car is in a safe and secure location.

For information and reservations please call toll-free 888-533-WALE. Tickets are available at The Harborside Hotel & Marina or our ticket office.

Sailing in Acadia with Downeast Friendship Sloop Charters

Escape the crowds and enjoy a private cruise aboard a classic Friendship Sloop. Designed in the late 1800s for lobster fishing, our beautiful sloop brings Acadia's maritime history to life. Get involved by hauling the sails or relax with a glass of wine on a sunset sail. Wildlife abounds and is best seen from a smaller sloop rather than large crowded vessels. We see seals, porpoise, eagles, and osprey. A local captain will answer all of your questions and you'll find comfort in the cushioned cockpit trimmed in varnished teak and bronze. Boats depart from Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor on day sails, sunset-sails, lobster bakes, and private charters. Six guests maximum, appetizers and soft drinks included.

Visit www.downeastfriendshipsloop.com. Sailing daily from the Harborside Hotel & Marina. Reservations necessary, (207) 266-5210.

Sea Kayak in Bar Harbor

Come paddle the amazing waters surrounding Maine's Mount Desert Island & Acadia National Park with Crystal Seas. Daily departures June through September from The Bar Harbor Regency Resort.

Visit Bar Harbor and sea kayak the surrounding waters of Acadia National Park, a premier destination for sea kayakers. Paddle on one of our guided three hour, sunset or full day tours along the rocky tree-lined coast of Mount Desert Island. Kayak amongst the smaller Porcupine Islands in search of its abundant wildlife. These islands are primarily owned by the park, therefore leaving them mostly undeveloped, making this an ideal area to witness the beauty this region has to offer.
